2019 has been an emphatic year for KTM/Redbull rider Jorge Prado. Last weekend in Sweden, the Spanish MX prodigy stormed his way to his second MX2 World Championship title in as many years. The result arguably cements Prado’s place amongst the best to ever ride in the MX2 class.

An incredible 13 wins in a row had given Prado an almost insurmountable lead going into the MXGP of Sweden. Aboard his trusty KTM 250 SX-F Prado, true to form, took out the first moto with ease, engraving his name into the MX2 trophy for the second year running.

With the trophy safely in the cabinet, Prado made his first big mistake of the season, crashing whilst in 3rd place and falling out of the top 10. Dusting himself off, In typical Prado style, he began picking off his competitors one by one, eventually finishing 4th in Moto 2 and 3rd overall for the weekend.

Prado’s team mate, Tom Vialle, finished 2nd and took the overall MX2 of Sweden title topping off a successful weekend for the KTM/Redbull team.

The 18 year old will now jump on the KTM 450 SF-X and move over to MXGP for the 2020 season as he’s unable to compete in MX2 because of the ‘Herlings Rule’.
