Don’t steal a man’s Duke

A KTM story we just had to share

We’re not the only ones who adore the nimble handling and raw power of the KTM Duke 390. Motorcycle bar and restaurant owner Shumel Avital from New York City was the proud owner of a custom Dukey, until he showed up to work on June 5 and found it AWOL.

Understandably gutted, Avital posted shots of the bike on instagram, sharing images of his pride and joy with the local KTM enthusiasts and the wider motorcycle community.

After receiving a tip off from a truck driver, Avital set out on his bigger KTM to go look for his Duke in the notorious Bronx neighbourhood. Avital then received a massive stroke of luck. He pulled up to a set of lights, looked right, and there was the plucky thief taking his Duke for a spin. Keeping his cool, Shumel informed the local police then caught up with the thief and quizzed him until the police arrived and arrested him.

Avital’s awesome custom KTM Duke 390 is now back where it belongs. This is a rare story of a returned stolen motorcycle but it’s testament to the strength of the KTM community around the world. One we’re very proud to be a part of! Well done guys.
